Write 3-50s based on the weeks SSR reading. 1st Paragraph= Summary of the SSR reading that week. Topic Sentence (TS)= has title, author and what the story is about 3 sentences= 3 important things that happened Conclusion Sentence (CS)= Overally, what you think about this book. 2nd Paragraph= Reaction TS= think of book 3 sentences= 3 reasons why CS= These reasons are why I still/don't want to keep reading (name of book) 3rd Paragraph= Make a Connection TS= How it relates to what you did or saw this week (If it did not, tell what didn't relate.) 3 sentences= to explain the connection or tell about the 3 differences CS= Basically, this story and my week have.....

Quarter 2-English 8 Class Daily Procedures1) Students read silently in the first 15 minutes of class. SSR time.
2) Students write in their Do Now Journals. They write a sentence or two that summarizes what they read. And students take out or have returned last class' goal classwork. 3) Start or continue story steps: a) Students write to Journal Entries (prompts given relate to the story and the unit's big question/idea) b) Vocabulary, Grammar and /spelling worksheets from story are worked on. c) Read story as a class while following a eading strategy learned in class. d) Last Journal Entry written, review work and students are given time to complete work. e) Test on story 4) Students are to complete a certain assignment each day to exit the class. Assignment given usually is something related to procedure #3. 5) GRADES ARE BASED ON: -Reading Do Now Journal completion [100 pts. each quarter] -Taking at least 1 AR quiz a month. [50 pts per quiz] -Test on stories [10-20 pts each test] -Worksheets and Journal Entries [25-60 pts per story] |

-marked when you were absent
- Do now and exit ticket questions
answered in complete sentences.
- Followed t-chart format
After 9/23, journal entries should have:
-date
-title and author
- a one or two sentence summary
